i think you have to be citizens to do that kind of stuff.. i know alot of ppl work in detroit but live in windsor, but they are all canadian citizens.

You are wrong.
PR can also live in canada and work in US as long as you dont have problem to enter US everyday. That said, you need to have a visa. Mostly H1B for canadian PR.
However, you can't use a traveller visa, e.g. B1, to enter US and work there.

Okay, since I work in Detroit and currently a Canadian PR in windsor....

The bottom line is, if you are a citizen, you can work in US with TN visa which you can apply at the entry of US without appointment and renew it every year.
And if you are not a citizen, no matter wherever else you come from, you will have to have "working permit" to work in US.
A working permit typically indicates, but not limit to, H1B visa. (otherwise it could be J visa or free trade visa)
To apply H1B visa, you have to have a US company to sponsor you with the reports, documents, and etc.
Most of the mid-size or small company don't like to do this coz they are not comfortable to
disclose their financial  and funds status clearly.

That's right.
You can work in US and live in windsor as Canadian PR and you need a visa.
Most likely will be H1B visa if it's a professional job.

你也可申请NEXUS, 有special lanes, scan the card, all your info is there. Sometime the US custom officer does not even ask you any question, just let you go. Sometime will ask you sometings. maybe random check. Overall it's very easy.

When you go back to Canada, if you use NEXUS.  it's much more easier. Most of time they are reading novels something, just let you go, no question at all.

Even though, you have to take all the documents with you just in case they check.

Sometimg have to line up and wait.
