法律规定，年龄12岁以下的小孩，必须随时处于成年人监护中。人们通常选择下列三种方式之一：

1、孩子的父母等亲戚朋友看护。
2、送孩子上DAYCARE。
3、请BABA SITTER看护，很多人送到探亲老人家，也是属于这一类。

1，2，3那个好，各有说法，  前段时间给我女儿找daycare, 我就说说我找的信息。

windsor这里的daycare 大致分为三类：

我主要说说我所知道的DAYCARE。

1、孩子的母亲或父亲上面费的英语培训班，有的提供免费托儿服务。在父母上课期间，负责看护小孩，可能提供免费或收费的SNACK，但一般不管午餐， 也不管换尿布。教师通常至少有一人受过幼儿教育培训。孩子的活动内容符合有关规定的最低要求。
ontario early year centers and saterlites 也属于这一类的，免费， 需要有家长（父母，祖父母，care givers）带去， 它们提供玩耍场地和设施， 但是你得自己照顾自己的孩子。
Downtown 的ESL就有。我带着女儿去过，条件设施还不错， 老师很多是volunteer的大学生，有爱心。 我和先生不能天天带孩子去，不过建议由老人看孩子的，可以带小孩去玩。

2、HOME DAYCARE。有一些妇女愿意在家里为别人带孩子。一个妇女，除了自己的孩子外，最多只允许带五个孩子。她们大多持有有关证书，有police record, 还有可能接受有关部门的检查。她们为孩子提供一顿午餐，外加SNACK，必须要安排一定的室外活动内容，以及刺激孩子大脑发育的游戏活动。缺点：由于这些妇女是一个人在家里工作，很容易偷懒，而且没法监督。好处是，孩子容易attach 一个老师， 而且它也比3便宜。
价格25-35一天。

3、GROUP DAYCARE，即相当于中国幼儿园和托儿所一类的日托班，服务时间从早上七点或七点半到晚上六点左右。如果细分，又可分为几类，如盈利性的和非营利性的，与小学校在一起的和完全独立的，等等。它们之间，大同小异，都必须满足有关规定，都必须安排足够的游戏和教育环节，必须提供营养充分的午餐和SNACK，通常大多数教师都有儿童教育专业大专以上的文凭。每天费用为35-45，对于低收入家庭，如果父母双方均有每周35小时以上的工作或学习的话，且存款不超过5000元，可以申请政府补贴SUBSIDY。注意：有些学校不接受拿SUBSIDY的孩子，一定要事先问清楚。
对于infants(<18mon), teacher : infant = 1:3, toddler, teacher:infant = 1:5, preschool, 我记得不大清楚了，大概是1：8吧

我个人认为，挑选GROUP DAYCARE虽然也包括朋友推荐，现场考察等环节，但通常选择的余地不大。因为很多DAY CARE 都爆满。有些家长在孩子一生下来就上DAY CARE center 去排队，等到一、两岁时才有位置。如果你刚到windsor，就应该到你家附近的所有DAY CARE center都去看一下，报个名排上队。等你有钱送孩子上DAY CARE的时候，更要每十天半个月都打电话问一下有没有空位。

关于这些daycare的质量，希望孩子参加了的家长说说看
我家住在dowtown, 孩子13个月，听说ABC NURSERY AND KINDERGARTEN ，DELTA CHI BETA，Cosmopolitan Kids 不错，提前了2个月排队，可是都没有for infant的opening了。 所以打定主意要送孩子上group daycare的家长，要早做准备。

My co-worker's daycare is at St clair College.

Head that is one of the best in Windsor.

The waiting list is huge. Talking for 6 months to 1 year waiting.

ABC Day nursery is a good one. Teachers there are very nice. The only problem is that it is not clean enough.
I visited it last summer. I saw lots of flies in the room. But I wasn't sure if other daycares are also like that.

Far more than 6 months to 1 year waiting. My daughter has been on the waiting list as full time for 13 month.
I went to there 3months ago. They told me to wait another one year. AT LEAST 2 YEARS waiting for most cases.
It is a good idea to put the child's name on the waiting list as soon as you are pregnant.

I do not know it takes that long. That is the information I had from my co-worker. He has daycare from St clair and the kid has been there for almost 2 years. May be he is talking about the 2 years old waiting list.

It's terrible!
I donot know why canadian goverment open more daycares!  If I have money, I will do this business ....

I visted DELTA CHI BETA EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTRE, it looks clean and no flies.  But it was fall this year.  Flies are more in summer than in fall.
The thing I did not like Delta chi Beta is their infant room closed at 5:30.  You need to back from work at 5, and if get any traffic, you will be late.  
Their toddler rooms open late, like to 6:30pm.  Maybe I will transfer my daughter to the toddler room after 1 year or so.
