　　5月12日14时28分，中国四川汶川县发生7.8级强震，重庆、湖南、湖北、山西、陕西、河北、北京等地有震感。据不完全统计，截至5月13日19时，四川地震灾区死亡12,012人，9,404人被废墟掩埋，7,841人失踪，收治26,206人，倒塌和损坏房屋346万间。

　　加拿大红十字会设中国地震募捐项目

　　北京时间2008年5月12日14时28分，在四川汶川县（北纬31.0度，东经103.4度）发生7.8级地震。地震的消息震惊世界，各方面立即开始救援。加拿大红十字会在第一时间开通中国地震募捐专项工作。

　　加东时间5月12日21时（北京时间5月13日9时），记者在加拿大红十字会（Canadian Red Cross）网站看到，在捐款栏目中，基金指定菜单中已经包含“中国地震”字样（Fund Designation China Earthquake）。

　　加拿大华人心系祖国，加国所有华文媒体均进行了重头报道。初步的支援工作也已经展开。滑铁卢地区的泓河中文学校一发现加拿大红十字会募捐信息，立即向所有学生发送了电子邮件，介绍https://www.paypaq.com/redcross/new/这一募捐网址。

　　据悉，加拿大华人社区将为地震救灾做出一些实质些努力，有关筹备工作正在进行。

我昨天捐了50CAD

加拿大政府承诺match个人的捐款，只要是他们认可的慈善机构（包括中国领事馆，加拿大红十字，中国银行加拿大分行，慈济）

有意向捐款的朋友，可以考虑一下这些match，找找有没有这些机会，这样灾区的人们会得到更多。

我爸爸刚刚捐了100CDN,虽然不多，但也算一份心意。

捐款给加拿大红十字 或 美国红十字 的钱 由该红十字决定如何，多少，什么时候支援中国四川， 如果有多于的钱则留着支援其他国家。 而且不是马上送到中国。  详细情况请看文学城 www.wenxuecity.com 里的询问结果，介绍。 很容易查到的。 如果中国领事馆，中国银行加拿大分行 也在加拿大MATCH1+1 的名单上， 我准备捐款到领事馆。 个人看法。 不论捐款给什么机构， 总是爱心了。

另外， 大家捐款前 要从报纸，TV， 广播 等核实 捐款帐号， 开户名， 现在有人渣在网上和短信利用 救灾 骗钱!  我不明白为什么 加拿大红十字会设中国地震募捐项目 网上捐款地址 在 www.paypaq.com. 加拿大红十字会 的网站 是 www.redcross.ca

各位同胞，有谁知道最佳的转款途径，既能最大可能地将捐来的每一个铜板送达四川灾区人民（100%最理想），又能得到加拿大政府的1：1跟进，请在这里列出。先谢了。

WASHINGTON - President Bush thanked China on Friday for "welcoming our aid" in the wake of the devastating earthquake that struck there last month.
"No question, this is a major human disaster that requires a strong response from the Chinese government, which is what they're providing," Bush said on a visit to the American Red Cross headquarters. "But it also requires a compassionate response from nations that have got the blessings of life, and that's us."
Bush praised Americans — both individuals and groups — for helping victims of the May 12 earthquake.
"The response so far of our American citizens has been, you know, impressive and unprecedented and unparalled in its compassion," he said.
The magnitude 7.9 quake killed about 70,000 people and more than 15,000 still are missing. It left 15 million people homeless. Growing public anger over the deaths of children in more than 7,000 collapsed schoolrooms has fueled accusations about corruption in school construction, putting the government on the defensive.
"My message to the Chinese government is: thank you for welcoming our aid, thank you for taking a firm response to this disaster and just know the American people care about the people of China."
