The primary goal of the NCM is to assess, plan and manage services that ensure appropriate, quality care for clients with group health, disability and emergency medical travel insurance in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Duties
*Assume responsibility as Primary Medical Case Manager for a particular client, upon notification of case.
*Utilize a systems approach to data collection; continually assessing, planning, and completing the necessary documentation (detailed explanation below).
*Analyse data in the formulation of nursing diagnosis and sets out objectives to meet the needs of the insured and the client.
*Develop and establish a plan of action.
*Update a plan of action for insured as needed.
*Evaluate the plan of action to reflect the changing status or needs.
Essential Functions
*Ability to analyze reports.
*Ability to prioritize caseloads.
*Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
*Ability to be a team player with strong interpersonal skills.
*Ability to handle fluctuating work volumes and multiple tasks within a fast paced environment.
*Ability to influence, convince, direct and persuade others.
Qualifications
*R.N, holding a valid Nursing certificate.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Proficient in PC based technologies.
*Recent clinical experience and demonstrated clinical competence in emergency medicine, medical *surgical and intensive care nursing.
*Additional language skills and knowledge of insurance are an asset.
