(1)Drink lots of water.
(2)Stay out of the direct sun and outdoor heat.
(3)Avoid strenuous outdoor physical activity.
(4)Never leave children or pets unattended in a car.
(5)Check on neighbours and friends who are frail, elderly and live alone.
(6)Go to air-conditioned places like shopping malls, community centres and libraries.
(7)Seek medical attention if you have signs of heat illness or see it in someone else.
(8)In an emergency, call 911.
