Canadian passport
As of Jan 23 2007, anyone flying to US must have a passport.
Requirements for crossing into the U.S. by land or sea have not yet changed, though travellers will need passports for all methods of entry as early as Jan. 1, 2008, and no later than June 1, 2009.
DOCUMENT COSTS
A Canadian passport costs $87 for adults, $37 for children 3 to 15, and $22 for children under 3.
Canadian citizens can apply in person at the Windsor Passport Office at 100 Ouellette Ave., Suite 503, or by mail at Passport Canada, Gatineau, QC, K1A 0G3.
Forms are available at the passport office and Canada Post outlets, or online at [url]www.pptc.gc.ca.[/url]
Passports arrive within 10 business days if applied for in person, and 20 business days by mail.

Update news - MORE PASSPORT WORKERS
Passport Canada is hoping to cut the wait time for travel documents. The government agency is hiring 300 more workers -- over and above the 200 already hired -- to help deal with the avalanche of passport applications. About 21-thousand applications are coming in daily. There's a 60-day wait to process the documents.

[color=DarkOrchid]Anyone including family members can now be a guarantor as long as they have a valid non-expired Canadian passport.
Under the new policy effective today [2007-10-01], an eligible guarantor must:
* Be a Canadian citizen 18 years of age or older;
* Hold a five-year Canadian passport that is valid or has been expired for no more than one year;
* Have been 16 years of age or older when they applied for their own passport; and
* Have known the applicant personally for at least two years.[/color]
